Nissan Patrol Y60 - TD42
Hi there,
This is Shehryar. I have NP y60 - TD42 (1991). The engine is burning oil. I use to put 9 litres oil in it and after 4000KM, while changing, almost 7 litres oil is burnt and its producing a dense blackish smoke too.
Expert opinion is required please. What should be the suitable treatment?
Regards,
Shehryar

Welcome aboard mate!
Are you sure it is 'black' smoke and not 'blue' smoke? Oil usage 'burning' of 7 litres over only 4,000kms is very high and would indicate serious internal engine problems. 'Black' smoke would generally indicate over fueling diesel in your TD42. Might be best to rush your truck into a mechanic ASAP mate. Good luck, hope it works out for you!

Welcome to the forum mate, feel free to ask any questions.
You might want to ask any questions in a different section as a lot of people don't read the introductions.

Thank you for your responses. Appreciated. Apologies for posting in inappropriate section.
Just one more thing.. should I go for a complete overhaul? Does it work fine with td42?
