This thread doesn't apply to me, coz I've got a DX and it's hose in, hose out - vinyl. lol

One day @Clunk, I'll show you photographic evidence that my ute is a fully sick, wet, off road weapon of mass destruction.
I said "one day". PML.

Hosing out the vinyl is a myth & I wouldn't advise anyone to do it. The felt under the vinyl soaks up water like a sponge. The vinyl then stops it from drying out. After a while it smells worse than a gorilla's armpit & the only cure is to pull everything out. When I had a leak into the cab, hanging the felt out to dry took close to a couple of weeks before the smell dissipated.

Cuppa thanks for the guide mate and agree that smell of mouldy wet under felt is a smell once smelt never forgotten.

Humble apologies to all affected by my last post. I do not recommend hose in, hose out, either.
Wet underlay needs to be properly treated and allowed ample time to dry.
I used to have a franchise getting smells out of cars in car yards, and I'm well aware of the wet, mouldy smell. Made me dry reach a few times. lol.
It is definitely not a hose in, hose out job.
