Yeah damage already done I think. I did also think bolts more just position with most force getting put through bar but as rope isn't exactly in line with centre of drum / bolts there is a bit of twisting force going on from top to bottom and there would have been a huge amount of force going through everything was pulling pretty hard. . Anyways good to happen where it didn't ruin a weekend of driving so all good. Got it mostly down with a much smaller bit firmly still wedged in there so good for now!

Got the winch out and stripped down ready for a bit of love. . .

Made a High Mount bench top holder as they are top heavy and a PITA wanting to fall over all the time. .

Sooo much better! Stripped the thing down all looking clean inside, there's definatly merit to adding drain & fill plugs and changing oil. . .

Pick up bits next week sometime and get it back together. . .

Buggered bottom housing, the top mount was already buggered so all force going through bottom mount and all too much lol. . .

Contact Mal at S.G Leslie & sons for any mods. He’s the guru when it comes to hi mounts. He rebuilds brand spankers into better than new than what Warn can do.

He’ll do any winch too for the fact.

I second that. He is an old school genius genuine craftsman.

What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

Looking great there Wossco Mate, Well Done!
Mark my words, give that new awesome Delta drum a half dozen home 30m sprints before next departure to free it up from new.
I didn’t and very glad nobody was watching on a solo snow slipping like a facefirst ostrich idiot :-)

@Rossco, why is the mechanical free spool deleted? What's the mechanism on the air free spool that makes for the improvement?

Spool itself is cogged mate, alleviates pulling extra gears on the sprint, just have to spin the barrel only
