Yeah should be good hopefully looking forward to giving them a good test. . . Think the deciding point was on useless loop rd in WA, relentless corugations and was painfully slow, thought one day gonna spoil myself to some good shocks lol. . Old ones have done some work and done well. .

Well haven't posted here for a while lol. Anyways looking back shocks have had a fair test and all I can say is brilliant ! They're Set pretty soft haven't even bothered to adjust and play with them but they are great and just seem to do what's best whatever you throw at them. . .

Anyways thanks to Winnie scored some mint second hand Stratos seats for a good price. Gooood riddance to those horrible Autoteknica's guess you get what you pay for lol. Just finished fitting them up, they came with 100 series and 79 series bases and ended up adapting the 79 ones to line up with the GQ holes. Very happy with how they fit can adjust easily without being too tight, can't wait to go for good drive see how they go but feels like it will be driving a couch lol. Luckily heading off to Big Desert tomorrow for a few days can't wait !!

Nice. I'd like to do this to mine. Even though I re cushioned the drivers seat. Its still pretty uncomfortable. Isn't there some sort of road worthy issue with using different seats though? Or is it about the rails, or something...

Its around the mounts to the car and the seat. If you don't intend getting it engineered, them put in what you like. If its going thru the engineering process, would pay to do some homework first and find out what is required. I am unsure about the seats though - would think if its an after market new seat you would not have issue, but there may be some assessment for say a transplanted seat from another model - say XR* seats into a Patrol which is a common swap. I have a Recaro drivers seat sitting on a Bostrum base that came out for engineering - need to find out what the go is there some time as a bit of coin tied up sitting in the garage.

Thanks Phil. Sounds like too much work. I used to sell Bostrom seats years ago too.

Nice one, cheers Sean. Certainly a fun project been watching your work in progress too, coming aging nicely. Looking forward to seeing how it comes up, although do have to admit I like the old Lux too had an old dual cab one like that years ago. .

So dragged the old girl out of the shed to help Nicko and see if we're could get down the hanger of the tree. . . All was going well till a bit of a clunk and then some suspect noises lol. . Ended up tearing captive nut(s) out of the winch. One was already damaged with a dodgey Sellys kneed it fix and then all too much for the poor high mount. Was a decent bit of lumbar that was speared into the ground and ploughing in and the top was pretty firmly wedged in there so were asking a lot lol. . .

Anyways time to get it going stronger with some mods while apart . .

Bad news Ross. Did you get the tree down though? I am a little surprised at the failure as the bolts should not have been taking much load - they are more positional than in tension, the load in compression is into the bar - maybe the damage was already done? Looks like the pull is pretty well straight into the winch?
