    Catalytic converter delete on CRD

    Hey guys,

I have a mate with a 2008 CRD30 and has a hole in the Cat. I assume it's illegal to remove or delete it but what's the go? Given the cost to replace the Cat are most just deleting it? Any recommendations on exhaust replacements? Size and suppliers.

He doesn't want it to drone so was concerned about going to a 3". Who has done what?

I know nothing of 3.0s. What's the go.

    Cheers MR

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

    +1 to this.

Had it on both my Patrols and my Navara. Perfect fit everytime everything included, straight bolt on.

Which ever way Darren do not remove the CAT. With my old 3ltr I was pulled up twice, in the same place too, from an RTA check and both times the first thing they did was climb under with a heat gun and check for the cat. As far as I'm aware the fine is a few k if caught without. There is plenty of options available with performance cats to stick with a cat.

I'll just add to my comment about being pulled over by the RTA and the use of their heat gun. They use the gun to detect if the cat has been gutted or not. A gutted cat will show less difference in surface heat compared to a, not gutted, cat. So its easier for them to spot.
