Gearbox oil smell?

Coming back from camping trip today,
Towing my 15 ft tinny I'm getting a gearbox or diff oil smell
Comes and goes.
Not a single oil leak anywhere.
I've noticed it before too
Any ideas?

Do you only get the smell when towing Deano ?

what motor etc have you got,
I take it you have a manual box
do you have a LSD ???

Yeah.it's only a light boat though.
Everythings going smooth and sweet otherwise

It's a td42,manual box and lsd.
She's in near mint condition,all original running gear.

probly a hole in the rubber seal when the shifter goes into the top of the box

Nope nothing wrong with that.
Could it be overfull of oil and too much fumes coming from breather...long shot i know

Hubs not leaking?

im not talking about the boot you can see around the shifter in the cab, theres a small seal ontop of the box around the top of the shift assy
