Been looking for months mate, nothing ever comes up and when it does they are way too dear.
Seems that people like to hang on to tandem trailers!
Winter is coming real fast and I need to keep my family warm so need to get something asap.

Ahhhh righteo, me being me was just thinking it's quite an expense for a bit of kit that's not going to be used a whole heap.

Please don't take my comment the wrong way

What about Traralgon trailers, checked our their ones. We've got a 8x5 tandem at work, very good size can fit heaps in & tows well.

Pretty expensive though. A little bit dearer and not galvanised. Probably a better trailer though.

All good mate. I did want to go 2nd hand but did not expect them to hold value so well. A 10 year old trailer is still worth around 2k and that's without a cage too. I would end up spending about 300 fixing one up and by then might as well get a newy.

Id like to know where they get their checker plate from. They say 2.5mm which is an odd size for checker plate. Can you ask the to measure the thickest part of the checker plate?

Checker plate will be slightly stronger than a normal flat mild steel plate as it pressed to form the pattern. So the raised parts are the original thickness while the lower section is the pressed more dense area.

I would be going option 2 without to much thought.

Yeah its not proper checker plate. There is a trailer manufacturer here who uses real checker plate but a trailer from them is 6k.
