Sorry mate he was leasing out our mechanics spare factory for that time and now he's working full time somewhere.

A decent metal fabricator should do it easy!

Just some food for thought too Phil mate. I looked at/queried some unusual new tyre/rim sizes when I joined the forum and was kindly alerted to the fact by blokes like Darren that emergency spares would be weeks time to find out there and sharing extra spares between a convoy (no matter how small) was a great idea :-) ! A lot of the Vic adventuring crew seem to berunning 35-15/315-16 within mm's of each other to get everybody
    EDIT: back to camp!

OK, this makes sense. Thanks guys for the input.

Darren, I will take the spacers, but right now will sit on the fence regards body mods until I see first hand what it looks like. I still have a lot of life in the 32" tyres, so can afford the time to consider further, however will likely end up with the 35" solution.

TD, maybe a bit too aggressive and unsure how they track on wet bitumen. I have a heavy vehicle and the lugs will 'melt' under the load I reckon and give a very short life, but I have looked at them as well.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Thanks Darren, images don't show up on my work computer - might be an internal issue, so will look tonight at home.

I'm out on this process. There is no way I will attack my vehicle like that, despite it turning out how you wanted it, it just sends shudders down my spine! I then have ask, what is the largest tyre that will fit under the guards on a patrol with 2" lift? - 33"? 34"? but not 24"?

You know, the OTWAYS is the one place in the world I am not returning to to go 4wd'ing. I was on a Landcruiser Club trip years ago and they managed to get 5 vehicles stuck up to the door handles in some black sandy goop down the bottom of the valley of death and it pissed down all night, despite being 40 deg during the day. We got the last guy out at 7pm the following night after having to drive 100klm to get to the other side of the bog - total nightmare of a weekend. I think I would rather contemplate a weekend at Jells Park than that - sorry Darren, just a huge recovery scar that has blown up after MB picked it!!!!
