Crooked river fires
Looking like the fires are getting a hold on the bush
Caught up to some friends Saturday morning for brekky
at the Moroka bridge then we did the Pinnicals
Billy goat and then camped at Moroka Junction for 2nights
the storm went over us but just a few spots of rain and
thunder but not any lightening
very relaxing indeed
Packed up Monday morning to come home and as we where coming
down to Kingwell bridge we noticed the smoke behind us
we went up Conway spur to Randals track and saw Billy goat track
well alight in the distance now its only 10k from Dargo
so you just never know whats over the next hill
As DX GRUNT says stay safe out there

Patrol God
I just saw those on the Vic fire website. We're going to jamieson this weekend and the handbrake pointed out fires in the high country...
Hope it gets under control soon. We have hot weather and the winds are picking up.

Thanks Roofy, heading into Butcher Country for a week starting March 28 - will keep a watch on how this develops - remembering the extent of the last big one that went thru there.

Legendary
Son who works for parks said it started by lightning and was out of control after about 6 hrs , they are actively fighting it but the country is pretty rough .
They have had to close quite a few areas so check the parks website before heading off .

Son has been sent to fight the fires from where he is usually based , around one week on , when he gets to send a text I'll find out how it's going up there .
