UHF in my Patrol
Hi all
I have a 2000 GU Ti 4.5 Patrol with a sunroof but I can not work out where I can mount my UHF as there is not a lot of room either under the glove box or steering wheel.
Maybe someone here can help me out. Cheers

Depends on what model UHF you could velcro it to the side of the centre console
or like me mount it under the dash with only the hand piece and all controls showing

Thank you for your reply.... I have a Motorolo GM 338. Yes I thought about putting on the side of the console with Velcro also. I would rather have it tucked away so might do as you suggest and put it under the dash and hope the plastic will support it. Cheers again

Does this model have the controls on the hand piece,
I've used a RJ45 panel patch cable to move the hand piece to just left
of the centre facia so the Passenger can have some imput instead
of it all being on the driver.....lol
You can also buy dash pods that will house a UHF ,,even a roof
centre console that will hold a myriad of bits and pieces

I mounted my UHR under the centre console on the drivers side. I had a radio with the controls in the handset.

You could always consider a roof console.

Not a lot of room for a roof console in the TI. It has a sunroof and small console in front of it.

Using these patch cable you could in theory if you have the controls on the hand piece,
have it coming out of the "A" pillar. That would mean only the driver has input, so a bit
unfair.lol

I run 2 UHFs in my GU IV, one is a remote head GME, the "guts" are under the passenger seat with the head unit on the centre console in front of the ash tray. The Icom is mounted in the dash behind the glove box with the mic (with all controls) is mounted on the passengers side of the stereo unit.
