Will say something for them , nobody will be able to interrupt your talking .
Heard somewhere some truckies have gone back to analogue because no cop car can intercept their messages .

Interesting you say that all channels on 27megs are more or less silent. Only traffic I have found is on SSB and that's usually the same old codgers banging on about the same thing!

I've got my old President Grant SSB, a 100w linear amp, and my 3 element Yagi laying around somewhere. Used to upset everyone in the street with that one.

The base-units were quite popular and sold heaps, which makes them inexpensive to buy second hand today, but a few months ago I sold a pair of "as new" fully functional Sony 27meg 5watt hand-helds for more money than I bought them for 30 odd years ago.

Bitumen Burner
I was given one not that long ago, and unfortunately, it doesn't work.
I bought a new one and it's in my roof console. Tried everywhere to find a SSB one, but couldn't.
If anyone knows where to find a AM/SSB CB radio, please let me know and I will love you forever. lol.

Rosso, I recently replaced my uniden SSB when it blew up off eBay. If you keep a look out there are quite a few on offer, especially on eBay.com
