GQ door mirror floppy - how do I tighten it?
Hi
GQ wagon with manual mirrors. The driver side is weak and will blow back in strong gusting wind. How do I go about adjusting it so it stays in place?
thanks

From memory and mines not that great but I'm sure the Maverick we had the mirror had a nut at the bottom where it pivots . But I vaguely remember replacing the drivers side mirror but do remember it was a bugger of a job .
You need three hands .

Is it the type that attaches to the door itself or near the window frame

did this last weeekend. remove mirror from door. under the mirror remove rubber blank. then undo the bolt pull mirror in two. clean the dome shapes that fitt together. put it back together. (remember which way it all goes) make sure the bolt is tight and the spring isn't broken.
if its worth doin its worth over doin

Thanks for replies. Yes it is attached by 2 small screws on door.
Looks like an irritating time coming up.
cheers
