problems with my patrol

i have a 2001 zd30 nissan patrol done 239000 auto, i rebuilt the motor at 140000 and replaced the turbo while we were there, car has been running well and is still running well, i have blocked the EWGR valve when i rebuilt it, the problem i got , is when i put a trailer ( tandam trailer Empty) on the back i cant go more than 80 KLM hour, no it s not heating up it just doesnt seem to be able to go any better than that and no real guts when towing, can anyone help here as to the issue or what to check.

We have the 2002 model and towed a van round oz , but with the overdrive off , could get between 80-90 on the flat sections .
My first towing experience in the GQ was with a small pop top van and was flat out doing 80 , I pulled up after about 30 Ks and found the brakes were partially locked .
