I have done some work on the old girl and everything I look up on what to use after painting is to buff clear coat. The problem is it is on the back corner of the roof and down the side of the channel. If I use a buffer (which I don't have) I am worried I will burn through. I am far from being a professional. What should I use to polish / buff? Is it just a cut polish?
I’d recommend PF2400 to polish,
Then SF3500 to refine the paint.
As for burning through the paint, work small patches of the panel at a slow speed
Moving over the same area slowly about 6 times, wipe off after this, inspect the paint and if your happy move onto another area of the panel.
I suggest doing it in a cool shaded area as the panel can heat quite a bit and you don’t want to burn your new paint.
