New 3 inch exhaust very quit
Hi lads, just a question, i just recently put on a new 3 inch exhaust straight through no muffler but with the flexy pipe, on a gu td42t, its just one of ebay, it all bolted up perfect as, really happy but my issue is its quite as, it has a hi flowed ht18 on it,
Any thoughts??
It use to have a 3 inch aswell but it stopped just behind the front seats so it was ridiculously loud
Cheers

If you have a straight through pipe theres not much more you can do. My only suggestion is that your so used to the noise from a shorter pipe, which makes you think its quieter than usual.

So whats the problem?
Its as mudski says. The pipe now goes all the way to the back of the vehicle and probably exits into clear air instead of bouncing off everything under the car

Get someone to drive it past you with some boot to it, it probably sounds decent from outside the vehicle.

If I have the Windows up in my ute I can barely hear my 3" exhaust with Hotdog however if I'm outside the car listening to it, it sounds mean as.
