Zd30 Water pump S#&t the tin
Hey ladies and gents
As the Title suggests my water pump has crapped itself, well the seals have and water is leaking from the "weep hole".
Are there any aftermarket alternatives I should consider to save a dollar or are they all rubbish?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry, should specify its for a zd30, my bad.

Bloody Aussie on this forum had a really good one fitted. If mine died that would be the way I would go. Do a search on here and you should be able to find the details.

Yeah had a look on there website, they have genuine for $300 which I am happy to pay if its new but if its a re-build I'll look at other options.
I just had a look around and noticed Gates does water pumps for the zd30 and they can be had anywhere from $315 to $375 brand new.
If anyone has had any experience with the gates water pumps id love to hear some feed back.

I'd be interested in the remove and replace proccess.
I was going to replace mine but I feel the viscous hub is fine.
I brought mine from autopartsonline from memory
The one BA brought had a bronze fan blade instead of a pressed
tin job. still not the best going around but is best atm'
John Bennet water pumps had impellors and he die ground
most surfaces to eliminate cavitation as much as possible,
but they are no longer available sadly

The water pump, pulley and viscous hub are all one unit which I had no problems removing mine using 6 or 7 easy steps which i found on the forum. It was actually quiet easy.
I found out that the pumps which Patrolapart offer for $299 are actually genuine and brand new so I ended up ordering one of them this afternoon. Should have it b4 the weekend.

Probably around the 60k mark, the previous owner had a brand new crate motor fitted and all the nads and stuff done straight away, he had done 40k prior to me purchasing the car and iv done atlest 20k.
Since comparing the new genuine pump to the old one im pretty sure the pump that crapped itself was an aftermarket one.
