    Sticky clutch?

    Hi everyone,

Not sure how to explain it but here goes, the actual operation of the clutch pedal is like.....sticky, it seems stepped if you know what I mean. When letting the clutch out it seems to stick then release a little then stick and release and so in.

I'm sure it never used to be like that. I was thinking it could be the clutch booster.

I got a new clutch installed last August so I know it's not that.

Any suggestions or has anyone else experience this?

    Thanks
    Paul

    G'day Paul.
It's after beer o'clock and I'm only joining in because you've not had much response.
Without knowing anything about it, I'd assume the booster simply makes it easier to get the foot down. Getting it back again would be a different exercise. I think??
Starting at the really dumbest end, the fluid level is totally good? Probably not relevant, the fluid has been changed as per regulation? No leaks at master or slave?
The pedal would, I imagine have a return spring? Sorry, I should know but refer to the first words. If it does is it clean or lubricated, nothing interfering with the action? No crap interfering with the rod through the firewall?
Apologies for not being up there but if it is a problem with the booster or the actual clutch plates, springs etc. etc. I'm way out of there.
    Best wishes,
    Col

As Col said, the fact it's sticking on the return seems odd, but may be worth checking/bleeding your clutch slave cylinder?

Thanks guys. I found that there was a fuel hose leaking right above the clutch slave cylinder and diesel had caused all sorts of gunk to clog up the slave boot etc. after a good clean up and new slave kit all seems good again.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
