    Wastegate actuator not closing.

    Hello patrollers,

Hope you're all well, it's been quite some time since my last visit, which is purely due to stupidity. I've searched and searched but no threads help with my problem, so I thought I'd ask the people that'll know best..
I have a zd30di with a HPD boost controller and needel valve egr blanking plate and a while ago I had some maf failure which lead to over boost, inturn leading to my wastegate actuator failing, making it boost to quick/to high and and very slow to close veins or with speeds from 70-110km will not fully close sitting around 3-5 psi untill speed drop boost drops till I hit around 75-80kmph will return to vac/0 psi, I've tested the diaphragm with a hand vac pump as work shop manual suggests, and diaphragm is shot. I've been trying to source an actuator with limited luck... been to a few wreckers in the southeast, only finding 1 and he wanted $125 for one with no warranty ect... and would not budge on price, so no thanks sir! So spent a lot of time searching am left with 3 options, which I'm asking you guys for help and ppls experience's with.

0pp 1- replacing turbo, atm this is my last option due to price and is a definite fix, will happen in future so NA.

Opportunity 2- ebay actuators, would like to hear ppls experience with these actuators please, due to the already erratic boost on the zd30 don't want to trust something which is potentially detonation in the making.. so are they cheap and nasty like I assume? Opinion is not needed, as I have mine already.

And last option is the turbosmart actuator, I have done a bit of reading on this and the answers I've read lean towards no, and I'm don't understand how they'd work when the factory actuator is designed to open/close the veins not a wastegate.. so are they a feeable option, has anyone used them and what is/was your options?
I hope I've given enough info.

Thanks guys n gals much appreciated, hope everyone has a marry Christmas, drive safe and be safe..

You dont have a wastegate if you vgt turbo.

Is the hpd unit a vacuum unit or a pressure unit? You can go to a pressure controlled unit without to much fuss.
