    UHF Power Adpater

    Hi All,

I had a Uniden UHF thats been playing up so replacing it with an ICOM. The power from the uniden was rectangular 3 pin with only 2 in use

This is the ICOM supplied Power lead

Anyone know if you can get adapters so I don't have to replace the existing power cable?

    Cheers

Just cut the Uniden plug off and join the new plug? Easier than trying to source any type of adapters

Was trying to avoid cutting the supplied cable. Found both types of connector at Jaycar for anyone else looking to do this in future.

The Icom connector is a bit more substantial than the Uniden, the cable looks heavier, it is probably worth the effort to rewire & eliminate any possible faults. Adapters are not a good permanent solution.
If you cut the Uniden connector off you can use the old wire to pull the new one back through the firewall, I would use a relay to switch power on when ignition is on.
