I'll tell you I have been looking at space cases to fit one or 2 to the roof rack because they are a good size. I don't want something too tall. I think your sizing is bang on. Will wait to see you product before making a purchase. Nice work.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Got to do some real torture testing first and then refine a little more I suspect. Coming together though.
Thanks for the support guys.

have you got a pic of the underside? is it smooth so it can be dragged across surfaces or ribbed and must be lifted?

Underside will fit the lid ridges to assist with stacking. There are some vague sketches around here somewhere to later play with a wheeled version but at this stage it looks like the below.
If you mean for dragging it across the top of another box, then we've put in two lengthways ribs to help that go smoothly.

Thanks mate. Yeah I have found with the cheap tubs that the ribs can catch and grab in carpet and rough surfaces and break off. The cheap ones with wheels also don't last well with wheels ripping off.
Surfaces that it might get dragged across would be checkerplate in the bottoms of the camper trailer, carpet on top of the rear drawers in the GU, carpet on the floor at home, concrete driveway. Roof rack mesh.

Well, day one of torture testing and we busted a hinge-pin! Back to the drawing board on the hinge for a bit then try again.
Still, happy with a lot of the other features and it is a nice smooth interior like we wanted. The grips also are nice and comfortable and the latches work great, so not all bad news. Just a bit more work to do yet.

Looks great.
2 questions.
1. Is the lid strong enough to sit on or stand on?
2. Are the latches or the lid lockable with a padlock or something?
