Here's a better Desert Tan colour.

I think I like the desert tan, or the black with orange latches.

I like the idea of coloured latches, you could use them to differentiate betwen contents instead of a list. Black with a choice of latch colour would be my choice. Also I would like to be able to replace latches, that is have latches as a spare part as I have in the past ended up throwing "Bunnings" type boxes away because of broken latches or hinges.
2005 GU IV ST 3.0. Snorkel. Roof rack. Awning. Spots. Welded I/C. Dual batteries & VSR. UHF. Barn door hinge extension. Roof top spot lights. Rear drawers. 2" lift. NADS. EGT and boost gauges. Trans temp and water temp gauges. Provent 200 catch can. Rear ladder
And crawling on the planet's face, some insects called the human race. Lost in time. And lost in space... and meaning.

There will definitely be spare latches and pins and internal trays. Probably going to do about six coloured latches/pins and one box colour to start with. After that we are thinking a Medical red, Safety orange, Desert tan, light grey and a few others depending on feedback.
Forum discount for sure!

Patrol Freak
I'd think we're all used to walking into the robber barons' and the colour choice is generally black or grey.
A variety of colours here is solid thinking. The only drawback may be uv stability of the colouring.
I can imagine the units will spend a fair deal of time on the ground at camp and colour fade could become an issue, more so those that are lighter in colour!!
That said I'm a fan of the Desert tan but would probably purchase a variety to facilitate ease of identifying the contents.
I AM NOT STUBBORN.........I prefer the term, Singlemindedly independent !

When it comes to stacking boxes have you considered an accessory that works sort of like shipping container pins do IE you restrain each layer using the rope point on the lower and upper box.
So that you only tie down or restrain the bottom box and any more that stack attach to the box below... or an accessory that hard mounts on a surface and even the bottom box attaches to that point.
Something with hooks at either end and an overcentre for tension so that a quick flick means you can unstack in a jiffy.
Wouldn't be something for everyone but damn handy for anyone who does 3 or 4 layers
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.
