Bullbar to suit GQ - ARB out of stock
Hi
I had a tree fall across Patrol which amongst other things bent the bullbar.
So repair mob were booked to start next week including a new winch compatible ARB bullbar.
My preferred is ARB but none kept in stock and could be 8-12 WEEKS. Crash repair mob won't do rest of car in meantime; will only do the whole job all at same time.
If another maker has one in stock what choices are there? I guess TJM would be next in line, if available.
So please tell me, is TJM a good alternative, style and quality, to ARB? What else?
Need to know by tomorrow, FRIDAY 21st.
sorry about urgency but repairer wants to know what I want to do.
Thanks all,

Ironman do an OK bar with Driving lights in them too.
Alternatively, Millweld, Raslar, Patrol Doctor all make a decent Tube style bar for the GQ. No Airbags so no ADR issues. For the coin you could probably get a Milled front bar and Scrub bars and sidesteps for the same price as an ARB Front bar.
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!
....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

The Ironman gq bar looks junk though!!
I would personally wait for the ARB bar if I were you and you want that style. I would not want a TJM or any of the others.
I have got a Millweld bar on my GQ and I love it. A lot cheaper too!

What about whacking a factory bar on to get your vehicle back so you can then order an ARB one?
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Have you had a look at Uneek? You can go 3 hoop, just the single hoop or no hoop at all. Look good.

Thanks for replies. I am stuck a bit as assessor has already authorised ARB. Repair yard have suggested TJM but they don't know if they are in stock either.
I think, unless repairer gives no options, wait for them to get the ARB bar. Most of the other names you've mentioned I've never heard of. Apart from a few dings, onlu other damage was 1 spot light, radio aerial, 2way aerial, headlight protectors, driver's mirror, couple other small things. Pretty lucky that tree was dead and just 'exploded' on impact.
Many thanks,

The assessor authorising the ARB bar is good new for you mate, Your entitled now to get another bar unto that value. Or spend a little extra for an upgrade if yu can find one.
When i crashed my GUIV i paid $200 to upgrade from the Nissan factory Steel bar t the ARB Deluxe bar, was a no brainer for me.

Thanks MudRunner, it is good news as original bar on car when I bought it was an aluminium, non winch bar. It looked OK, no idea where it was from. Thanks for those links too. I think I still prefer the look of the ARB so will try and stick to that.
Cheers

No Worries, the ARB bars looks great. ARB do 2 different bars for the GQ. The Deluxe bar and the Commercial Bar. The Commercial bar is designed around the HiMount winch and has a bigger nose cone winch cradle and a crappy approach angle. Make sure they are ordering you the Deluxe bar.
