    Transfer case problem

Hi guys and gals got a slight problem.
Its a 2003 zd30 auto and it's stuck in 4 high. The gear lever for selecting 4h/4l/2h is loose and and moves foward and back. If with some effort it moves into 2h but operates in neutral.

Now it had some difficulty getting into 4L but didn't show the atp light (light that triggers between low range and high range.)
I only noticed it was stuck in 4H when I went to leave camp and return home.
Any ideas as I am stumped and appreciate any help or info.

EDIT UPDATE: So my mechanic found out that I had broken a cotter pin on the tranfercase selector lever. Cost me around 200 bucks to get it fixed.

Make sure the selector stick is lifted up. It might take some force. Mine did something like this last weekend the spring doesn't seem to be pushing it up like it was

I'll pop the lever up when I get back home. I'd rather break the stick at home than out in the bush. only a few hours drive. Also I have taken the front drive shaft off so I can drive on tarmac

Not that much force LOL. Don't you have free wheeling hubs?

I have auto manual hubs unfortunately. But I did what you said. Pulled her up which was easy just she went into neutral.
