Vegie garden at our previous house. We managed self sufficiency in vegies for around 7 months of the year for many years despite the short growing seasons, in addition to year round self sufficiency in meat, (lamb, beef pork & goat) eggs & cheese (goats).
Our current vegie garden is a pathetic disgrace.

Haven`t much in the veg patch at the moment. The old cabbage moth are thriving at the moment, so water melons, tomatoes, chokoes, pineapples, garlic, parsley and brown onions are the only things I have growing at the moment. Didn`t worry about corn this year, as I have a bundle in the freezer keeping my sweet potatoes company. Bought a big jar of gherkins a few weeks back and the cucumbers decided to swamp me. The spare patches of dirt I have, gives me a chance to prepare and rest them for the next crop of what ever for the next time I get a spurt on.

I`ve planted another twelve cucumber plants this time. Six Burpless and half a dozen of Crystal Salad Cucumbers, so I`m going to be swamped even more now with cucumbers. Planted twelve fancy lettuces of various types as well, just to fill up the spare space that I had.
