How much for a transmission control module...

    Hiya

Just wondering what sort of cost a transmission control module would cost for a 06 patrol 4.8 auto.
Are they hard to get to and remove/ install
    Cheers

You can find them on EBay.
They're fitted inside the trans (as I mentioned on the other forum) but I have no idea what's involved in changing one.

Have you got a link for these? I am currently in the midst of fitting an xr6 turbo engine into my gu patrol and the only option i have found so far is a $2395 module from wholesale automatics

4.8 auto is the 5 speed. I thought yours was from a TB45?
For a RE4R03A 4 speed, you can use the TCU from a TB42E that doesn't require the ECU to run. Otherwise, TCU & ECU from a TB45E if you're capable with wiring.

    Correct John,
Mine is the 4.5 but wasnt sure if the module could be used for either either.
I have purposely screenshotted what you just wrote and will be giving this info to my performance shop as i arent up to scratch with it all.
No doubt he probably has plans with sorting out that part but the more info the merrier!
