What Glow Plug for my Y61??

    Hello!

My patrol y61 with RD28 95kw engine has cold start problems! the last days we had only 3°C in the morning so i think my glow plugs are not good anymore!
But i dont know what plug i have to buy!
Are there also 2 different glow plugs like in the y60 RD28 or are all six the same?
Has anybody an answer for me or a part number!

    thx Chris

    update:
i went to a nissan dealer and ordered original nissan plugs! they are all 6 the same! unfortunately he has to order too, so i have to wait till wednesday!
the price is very hard i think, 43 € one glow(thats about 62 AUD)

    Chris,
surprised you've not got any response.
Can't help as I've not had one of the 2.8 wagons.
Would hope that if Nissan are quoting for thew plugs they have the right ones for the 2.8.
Another possibility may be the web/ebay.............. http://www.patrolapart.com.au/ is site in australia which may be of interest.
I presume your battery is in good order?
Good luck from the other Aus.

Hi Chris. The Y61 has 11V plugs. The Y60 has 6.5V plugs, and three of them are for heating after the engine starts. The use all 6 for preheating and then the use the last 3. The Y61 has an electrical injection pump so the donīt seem to need the heating after the engine has started. Hope I answered your question in an easy way

    G'day Icey,
have to ask. Where the Hell is 'East of Iceland' ?
Only Iceland I've heard of is the one where you either burn in a volcanic eruption which shuts down Europe and the rest of the world or you're freezing your bits off on a glacier.
    Same place???
If so, off the end of the road makes you THE legend!!
    Regards,

Looking at the date of the original post, it was made 3 years ago....

Some people convert to cheaper TD42 glow plugs and rewire the control signal to momentary push button so glow control is manually operated.

    Cheers
