    Compact Camping Chairs

OK, I need some camping chairs. Having switched from a ute to a wagon, I now don't have enough space, so I'm looking for some chairs that will pack up compact.

Flat pack chairs won't fit as they need to go across the back seat in the wagon.

These look great - http://www.helinox.com.au/lightweigh...irs/camp-chair - but so does the price.

Pics would be great. Thanks for any help.

Nope, Lots of bikers use them, heaps of reviews on Youtube. After owning lots of big, heavy camp chairs, this will be my next one for the same reason you want one.

I don't have this exact make but got 3 from Aldi a few weeks back, $30 each.......... they're actually more like the "Helinox Chair One"

They're great for the kids but if you're a 115kg 6 footer, they're going to feel a tad small

I have Helinox chairs. They're fantastic. I agree that if you are a particularly big person they wouldn't work.
They are quite small and fairly close to the ground. They weigh almost nothing and take up no room at all.
They go together quickly as well.
They're not for everyone - they don't feel the most stable thing in the world. You'd struggle to stay in it on sandy ground, for example, as the legs tend to sink a bit. They seem a lot more flimsy than they are though.
Overall I love them. I got them before I had the Patrol when space was more of an issue. These days I have a couple of Oz Tent Goanna chairs for added luxury.
I just wish manufacturers would make chairs and stretchers that pack down to under 90cm so they would fit lengthways in the back of an average wagon!

Im only 85kg but because I slump [fall] the last 6" into a chair none have
lasted the distance, I know use a TJM chair which is very similar to the Aldi
chair. This chair has lasted any trips now, buy way too bulky for your needs
I cant see those other chairs lasting, maybe ok for kids.
There is a thread somewhere on camp chairs, might be worth having a search.

Thanks for this info Boinzo. I was starting to think about these chairs, but I don't think they'll suit my lounging around seating style, not to mention my adequate bulk and deteriorating knees. ;-)
