New to 4x4 and Diesel
Hi All,
I'm recently retired and the proud new owner of a 2013 ST Patrol manual (The Truck) that I bought based on it's towing ability to tug our semi off road van repeatedly across and around Aus.
I've played with vehicles all my life including high power turbo sports/race cars so have some idea of what I'm doing but I'm completely new to both 4x4 and Diesel power.
I know there's a lot I don't currently know that I will need to know to not only get the best out of my new (Truck) but also to stay safe on the road.
I'll try to do my research before asking questions but I'm sure to ask some dopey ones that have been covered previously so please don't be too harsh with me when I do.
I look forward to talking with you and sharing the 4x4 experience.
Cheers
John

Welcome to the forum John (as well as to the grey nomad lifestyle). This is where you need to be in your quest to become acquainted with your Patrol, but you may also, if you haven’t already, find the caravaners forum useful too. ( http://caravanersforum.com/ ) . Once you manage to navigate past the grumpy old sods & the know it all’s (not uncommon afflictions among male grey nomads it seems) there are plenty of folk there with lots of experience in doing just what you plan who are most willing to share.

Welcome John,
Great to see another person from over this side of the country, and a diesel manual 4x4 Patrol owner as well!! We can share ideas and ask "dopey" questions together...
Cheers
