Squeaks from engine bay, advice sort.
Hi fellas,
The CRD 3L Patrol has now done 127,000 kms and the engine bay has developed a squeak when the motor is running. Does this sound like the idler pulley on the belt tensioner is about to fail? If this is the case, is the remedy to replace the belt tensioner assembly and the belt? If so how difficult a job is it?
Cheers
Michael

The most common issues for your symptoms is the idler pulley tensioner thingamajig.
Not a hard job to replace. Use only genuine gear, as all others are well known to develop issues again.

Yep sounds like it. Mine was especially bad on cold starts early in the morning, but it has been running well since I had it replaced - apparently they're known to only last around 120-130k if you're lucky
