Hey fish. Probably an alternator from a known reseller might be your best bet. I bought an eBay special for my Td 100amp jobbie i think. It seems to be still working. But my cranker battery i think is on its last legs. Nearly hasnt started the last few mornings.

    Thanks mate.

I'm trying to decide between these 2 at the moment http://patrolapart.com.au/product/ni...-made-in-japan or http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-B...4AAOSwn9lXK9~s if I new what the output of the Bosch one is would help, can't seem to find any information on it.

Genuine was $1k with the website provided by nissannewby so thats out of the question. I've also had 2 quotes from auto elecs/mechanics neither of which I was happy with.

The label on the side of the bosch alternator says 100amps.

    Have you tried ashdown-ingrams?

Thanks Yendor I'll give them a go. Do they deal direct with the public or are they wholesale only to automotive businesses?

They deal direct to public mate as well as wholesale. I use one here in Melbourne (tullamarine) all the time. It's my go-to local brick'n mortar auto elec shop.

Yes they deal direct with the public. If you have a trade purchase order you might be able to get it cheaper and still pay cash.

The price of that bosch one is going to be hard to beat but the quality might be of concern.

Maybe try after ashdown-ingrams give you their first price ask if they can do better, as you can get one cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks mate, so the bosch alternators are not that good? Are there any brands you would stear clear of?

If it is a genuine 100amp bosch alternator it should be fine. My concerns are the "made in China" sticker. The fact he doesn't state the output in his ebay listing. Did you look at his ebay negative and neutral feedback?

I personally wouldn't buy and item like this from ebay or online. But that's me.

It take the last sentence as a wouldn't...?

Anyway to actually test the amp output of an alternator too see if its actually 100amp?
