help my door wont open......
Ok, last night my GU decided that it would allow me to close the drivers side door..
i could hold it shut but the latch wouldnt throw over to lock it in place..
now this morning,, i was able to get the door to latch and lock but now it wont unlock...
so i cant get in to the car via the drivers door..
all doors lock and unlock, the drivers side door sounds like it unlocks but cant get it open..
all other doors operate normally
then it will lock all the doors on its own. any ideas please?
i am suspecting water as the weather in Perth has been really wet the last few days..
would spraying WD40 in to the key lock might help?
and no i cant unlock the door via the key.
any help would be great appreciated..
thank you

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

well its been playing games on me this door of mine..
half way across the nullabor, the good guys at norseman ( after they welded my exhaust pipe back up after it fell out of the dump pipe,,lol ) they gave me a length of wire..
i stuck it done the window and jiggled the barrel lock,, door opened.. but now it wont lock unless i use the interior door locker....
key remote dont work.. so i have to use the keys..
but even when i have locked all the doors with the key from the drivers side. i could still open the drivers door, all other doors are now locked.. but now now, once i have locked all the other doors,
i go to the passenger side ( open it with the key or just left it opened ) and i now lean across to the drivers door and hit the central locking switch.. then close the passenger door .. car locked...lol
so i have to look inside the door to see whats going on... when i get a chance...

Try leaning in from the outside on the outer door skin whilst unlocking, to take some pressure off the lock, and see if that helps at all....
If not, then try pushing on in and out ( releasing ) to "jiggle" it a little
If not, you may as well try the other way, with someone on the inside pushing the door out whilst unlocking.
It sounds like the lock mechanism has worn out, and needs replacing. Once you get it unlocked, then take the inner door skin off so you can get to the mechanism if required, or replace the lock asap

I am he, fear me
FWIW I would leave it alone and try and fix it ASAP.
If that sucker locks and the 'wire jiggling' doesn't work to unlock it your screwed
