Besides the first issue with VVS.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt9zSfinwFA
Looks like stocker with no NADS. Pull vac line off the VNT actuator when running. The VNT should open back up. If it does, then the actuator is fine.
The noise though sounds like the bearings in the turbo core are shot and the compressor or turbine are hitting the housing. The only real way to know is to pull the exhaust dump off and put finger on back of shaft and feel for free-play.
That being said, the noise is rev dependent, not matching what would be going on with turbo. Look around the front of the motor for any bearings that maybe gone. For example, the belt tensioner, AC compressor or alternator.

could also be a split EGR pipe , quite common
along with a warped manifold
Also check the clutch pulley on the alternator.
A long screwdriver or piece of hose may help you
isolate the noise better
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

That's a weird one.. and very sudden..
All I can suggest is take a long screw driver and hold the tip against the turbo housing and the handle against your upper jaw bone near your ear lobe.. this will resinate noises past the squeal into your ear..
Is it consists?
Does it happen only above a certain rpm?
Does it dissappear when you lift off the throttle at higher rpm?

Only when cold and around 2500rpm but if I remove the vacuum me line to actuator it stops

Ok so as soon as your adding boost it's screaming.
So have you checked for boost leaks. Soapy water on all the joins?

Dump pipe off and check shaft play. If it wobbles, she is farked.
P.S If it is farked, you are putting metal shavings into the motor.
