    Headlight playing up.

    Evening all.

The last few days one if my headlights doesn't want to work unless I give it a firm hit on the glass.

I've tried giving the wiring a jiggle and unplug and take out the globe and it continues to not work.

What else could I look at

    Thanks

Sometimes the element is blown but touches again. Try an new globe or try the other one. Just be careful not to leave a fingerprint on the glass.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Start with a better description of the problem.

What doesn't work? low beam or high beam? is it both sides?, does the high beam warning light in the dash work?, what glass do you hit..... windscreen?

I'm guessing it's a GU we are talking about?

... and check the earth and the earth pin in the plug
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

I had a similar problem with mine. Unplug rear and closely examine the socket.
There's a high probability the socket contracts are corroded or dirt preventing the proper contact.
I replaced the plugs. I don't have to bang on the headlight anymore.

It's an electrical problem. Better fix it straightaway.

    Yeah, well do tomorrow.

Funny thing is that the wife came home with a blow headlight and the spot light out the back blow a globe too.

    Well that is the 3.

Went out a few times tonight and the lights both where working. Will still swap them over tomorrow
