Just got myself a nice new (to me it is) 2013 Y61, it's all pretty great, but the suspension is complete rubbish.
I'm not sure whether to go for a 2" or 3" lift.
I've waited decades to get myself a 'real' 4WD and am keen to give it some reasonable lift. I don't wan't or need massive amounts of lift, it's going to be a tourer & daily driver, but I do want some height.
I know the baseline lift is 2", so I'm not expecting to get overly excited about that. I'm thinking a 3" lift. My biggest concern is, will a 3" lift make it difficult to get in and out of?
If you have any pics of your Y61 with 2" or 3" lifts, please show me as it'll be a massive help.
New laws will see you limited to a 50mm lift only unless engineered.
I would think a 50mm lift with 33"/285s a rear LSD and front locker
would see you go most places.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
I would think 2" for you based on your statement that it will be mostly tourer and daily drive, and as said by TD you won't have to get it engineered. Woul will also not get stopped and checkwed as often.
2005 GU IV ST 3.0. Snorkel. Roof rack. Awning. Spots. Welded I/C. Dual batteries & VSR. UHF. Barn door hinge extension. Roof top spot lights. Rear drawers. 2" lift. NADS. EGT and boost gauges. Trans temp and water temp gauges. Provent 200 catch can. Rear ladder
And crawling on the planet's face, some insects called the human race. Lost in time. And lost in space... and meaning.
I hope to see some pics of GUs with 3" lifts so I can compare. I guess I could always jack up the vehicle 2-3 inches higher than it is and see, that would give me a pretty good idea I guess.

Not entirely true John. You can go up to 3inch. IF, you purchase all the components in kit form, from one vendor, and they supply a certificate of compliance for their kit. Which, I don't think many would do. Well I haven't seen one yet. So 2inch is pretty much the limit.
2inch and 33's will get you pretty much to most places yes. But a bigger lift and bigger rubber is more fun. Lol.

Just giving advice to keep him legal , dont want him to be pinged first time out after spending big bucks on suspension
Yes bigger tyres and a lift are more fun but sadly thats a thing of the past, oh and keep your tyres inside your guards as well

And if you find a vendor with one of these kits, they are legal. But yeah. Stick with 2inch...
