    Good winter spots?

    Hey guys,

Trying to find a spot to spend a few days to a week at during July, looking for somewhere within a day's drive (approx 1000ks) from Adelaide that has fishing, allows dogs and is at least a bit secluded. Friends aren't really into 4wding so doesn't need to be too rugged. I was thinking chowilla but would like to catch something other than carp or Hillocks Drive but they shut their campsite during June and July.
Was wondering if anyone on here had any suggestions as to a good spot or two?
    Cheers

1000k will see you in the vic high country mate . Nice cozy place in winter. Numerous campsites take your pic.

A bit closer to home, you could try Nelson on the Vic /SA border, and fish up and down the Glenelg River.

There is a Caravan Park if that is what you want, or you can bush camp up the river.

Fowler's Bay is a great spot. Brilliant dune and beach driving. Surf fishing on the ocean side or sheltered fishing in the bay. A very nice place but be self-sufficient. Only the small caravan park shop and no grog sold in town. Plenty of camping spots in amongst the dunes. 10 hours, 920km from Adelaide.

What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??
