Oil filter recommend changes

I was wondering because the 4.2 inter cooled Td has two oil filters, do they need changing every service. I have been changing oil and filters every 7500kms, and the filter nearly cost $30 each.

Yeah I also do both every 5000km.

Checkout the vendor Filterselite on here. Their prices are really good and you will get both oil filters and a fuel filter for a little more than your paying for 1 oil filter.

I wonder why these motors have two oil filters. My thought would be so you could get more kms between services, but this is only a guess.

Large volume of oil. Diesel is also a little dirtier carbon wise so the filters need to have lots of surface area and dirt carrying ability.

I've changed my oil every 5k and filters every 10k and when sump came off recently when fitting new clutch, everything was clean. Just about to click over 209,000klm.
Manual says filters every 10k. Penrite 10-50 semi synthetic oil since warranty finished.
