    Looking at some new tyres

I am looking at a new set of rubber for the patrol.

    So far the following options:

    1. Yokohama Geolandar A/T G012 - 275/65R17 115H

    2. Dunlop GRANDTREK AT3 - 275/65R17 115H

    3. Bridgestone Dueler A/T 693 - 275/65R17 114H

Any comments re these would be useful.

TD let me put it this way:
I have had 7 Bridgestone 693's and 2 have had splits in the tread. Not too impressed. All this has been highway work as well.

    Dunlop; well just an option.
The Yoko's seem to be better vs the other 2. Funny though Pissant sells the vehicles, Y61's, with the Bridgestone tyres.

Had Heros on the Patrol once. nice semi aggressive tread but they did not last longer than 30k.Also had a high load rating but lower speed rating.

Main concern is new tyres that match the Pissant recommendations or higher as I have to have the patrol go a full inspection, due to GVM upgrade. Don't trust the transport inspectors one bit.

I Can recommend the Yokie Geolanders for black top use, good grip wet n dry & last ok to well for 4x4 tyres.
Off Rd , I cant really advise as my dirt use with them has been very limited.
I would suggest that for clay or slippery grass tracks etc the close pattern lugs would very easily clog up.
Compared to my coopers at3 for the "black top use only" I pick Geolanders, Way way better grip n handling.
    good luck.

Oh, on black top Id still recommend Geolander against the bridgestons.
Grips about the same but I recon geo's are much quieter.

    I replaced 2x 693 @ 20% worn, as the sound bothered me.
The more aggressive tread coopers AT3 are quieter, go figure that out!
Just looked at some $$ .
wildpeaks approx $280, and Geo's approx $305 each

Tried a set of the Bridgestone Dueler A/T 693, seemed to wear out pretty quick. Currently running Mickey Thompson Baja STZ`s. Good tread life, handle well on dirt, sand, snow, rocks, tar & in the wet. Only downside is they don't do a 275, I'm running 265/65/17. Bit pricey, $380 each last set. On second set now, good fuel economy, no failures, no complaints.

I ran BFG all terrains with great success, @ 110k I sold them to my BIL
who got another 20K out of them, two things , they tend to tram track
when the tread gets down, and airing them down is not one of their
best points. For outright touring and outback dirt roads like Dig tree rd
    Highly recommend

Ive given up on the Bridgestone Dueler A/T 693's as the 6 I have are breaking up and at least 2 split. About 30K on them and not really worn.

    So just bought 6 Yokohama Geolandar A/T G012 - 275/65R17 115H. current offer buy 3 get 4th free.
