My auto td42 gu4
Hi all thought id finally join up to the forum
its a 2005 patrol which was 100% stock and had the zd30.
Iv since ripped out the zd and put a td42 in, and also kept the automatic transmission.
Just a rough list of mods..
MOTOR
p4x4 18g
Ufi 12mm fuel pump
Front mount intercooler
Modified inlet plenum
4" intake
High mount manifold
3" exhaust
Stand alone trans computer and mods from keas
Other stuff
3" lift and 33s
Drawers,arb twin compressor,fridge slide,ctek daul and smartpass in the back
Arb bar with ironman winch and lightforce 240 spoties at the front
Also have a roof rack with 200w of solar panels, but not on the car yet

Nice work. There is a Patrol in the latest 4WD Action with a write-up on the same swap. Getting more popular it seems.

Can you monitor the oil temp of the auto? Is it up to holding a worked over 4.2 in sand OK?

yeh mate iv got a trans temp gauge, only time it gets hot is reversing in real soft boggy sand. other then that it stays prety cool
so far its been holding up fine, and thats ramming 180rwkw and 700nm down its throat

haha well its probably got more then that now, that was with the standard inlet manifold and was running a topmount cooler. will be going back on the dyno soon
