    Sway Bar Link Adjustment

    Hi all. Installed heavy duty sway bar links today in the front. With the 50mm lift I have I adjusted the new links to be 50mm longer than the OE links. Is that how it works? The new setting is now

    Does the sway bar need to be level at the end or is that ok?

    The front sway bar link length is different to rear one when doing a lift.
    As you may have noticed the rear sway bar is directly connected to the axel, means (if you imagine the body is kept level and the axel is lowered 50mm - i.e 50mm lift) this will create a closer to 50mm increase between the body and the sway bar requiring a 50mm extension to the link.

    However in the front the sway bar is well away from the axel and closer to the body, so a 50mm increase in the height between the axel and the body (50mm lfit) will only increase about 20mm on the height between the sway bar and the body.
    So you may only need a 20mm extension on the links (which can be actually ignored).

    Yes I see what you are saying. Well I think it will stay as is for the week and over Easter I will shorten the front links by 25 odd mils. Won't take long to adjust them. Thanks for the tips fellas. The new links are also a lot easier to unbolt for off road stuff than the OE links which is another reason for the upgrade.
