Patrol Freak
having been the owner of an 88 NE pajero for 9 years and recently buying (didnt say up gradeing) a 03 GU to which for the first time in my 4wding career then added lift kit and winch snorkle etc and after the last outing am strongly thinking of putting lockers on having never considered them before i am a bit disappointed in the patrol as each model comes out oit should improve,,,, i thought in buying the gu i would be able to do bigger and harder tracks then old pajero,,, (which kept up with all the cruisers and patrol both modified and not) but have been sadly mistaken so to me the question should be which patrol is cheaper to modifie so that you can go and do the tracks you really want to do!!!!!!!
sure this one will get a bit or three!!!!!

OMG!! You sound like someone else I know with a Hilux!! LOL ...
Hear what you're saying mate, but every 4wd'er, 4wd magazine comparo, etc can't possibly be wrong. To suggest a pajero is as capable (outside the aggressiveness and capability of the driver) as a patrol is a looooonnnnnnnng draw of the bow!!!
Consider me you're first catch!!! lmfao
You need to go pick it up from Sydney and bring it back up do we can do some "tests" before it gets turned into a harvester down at the gnomes place!!!! LOL

RIP - valued member and true gentleman of this forum that will be missed by many!
A mate has a lateish 90s ute that he says is a GU.
The body looks like a GQ, it has GQ cvs. However it has GU stub axles and wheel bearing lock nuts and I don't know what else that belongs to a GU.
I don't think Nissan differentiate between GQ and GU, the spares dept want the vehicle identification number, and talk in terms of Y60 and Y61.
