Missing in Action
A green Bullant either carrying one of it`s eggs or it`s lunch, can`t work out which it is. Bloody things sure pack a punch when they bite!

Yep I can attest to that! Ouch!
Amazingly, in the history of the monthly photo comps, as far as I can recall, this is the first time anyone has posted a photo after entries have closed. There is no problem with doing this, in fact I'd encourage anyone who wants to add to past comp threads with appropriate photos to do so. However I hope you'll understand that regardless of whether anyone adds a vote for it, it cannot be considered as an entry.

The votes are in, & I might say it has been pleasing to see a higher vote count than we've had in a while. Thanks to all who bothered.
Well we have a runaway winner with 25 votes ... Me. with my close up of a Praying Mantis taken whilst camping on the Dampier Peninsular.
In second place we have our pommie mate Onkey with 18 votes for his close up of a Hawk Moth in his back yard.
And in third place Onkey makes another appearance with 17 votes for his colourful green on pink close up of a grasshopper.
We have had some great entries this month from a number of folk & of course given the subject matter the majority were close ups. There was one photo which although not 'on the podium' which caught my eye however, it was post number 35 from Bushranger which when enlarged took on a completely different character. The composition with the colours of fly in perfect focus drawing your eye straight to it I believe is worth a 'special mention'.......... not something I generally do.
Well done to all who participated.
I'll announce the April comp topic shortly.

Hey Cuppa, great photo and a deserved winner - if there was one thing that could have made that photo better, IMHO, it would have been a more natural background. ie. no chair and ground sheet. Not meaning to be a 'know-it-all', just sayin'... The mantis and the foreground are just awesome.
Between Patrols ATM. Had a beaut GU with 6.5 Chev TD. Next is a GU ute with a 4.5 litre Cummins conversion and a camper on the back.

Thanks for the mention Cuppa. It was a photo opportunity that I wish I had a zoom lense of some sort to get a closer look. You know how flies react if and when you get close to them. I tried to enlarge and save the photo through Paint program for a better picture to add to the competition.
