Lock or leave the shovel off the 4x4
Woke up to a mates SMS this morning, his Patrol got done over last night ... The cockroaches used the shovel sitting on his roofrack to smash their way in, and 2 other nearby cars.
So obvious, But honestly it never occurred to me! You see it all the time, shovels just sitting there mounted to the 4x4 in some way shape or form. Including mine. But it's providing the crooks with a very convenient tool ....
Shovel in the garage unless I'm going away from now on.

I was of the opinion that only an "idiot" would steal a shovel.
on site they were called Black snakes and who in their right mind
would want to pick one up. It means manual labour lol
Point taken though and Ive been leaving the shovel in the shed till required

because of these idiots, someone will end up getting stuck and then remember the shovel is still in the garage.

Also something that I learnt a long time ago growing up in the northern suburbs is that a lot of things get knocked off when it rains heavy. You can't hear what's going one outside when its pissing down that's when they're out "working".

and forgot it as well so yes it is easily left behind
could put a bolt through the handle and lock it
