Cooper ST-Maxx or Nitto Trail Grappler M/T

    Hi everyone,

I am looking at getting new tyres and I have sort of ended up looking at either Cooper ST-Maxx or Nitto Trail Grappler M/T. The Coopers are $350 a corner for 265/75R16's and the Nitto's are $330.

Since the car is my daily driver I am a bit worried that the Nittos might be a little too aggressive. Reviews I have read suggest that they handle quite well and are not too noisy. Does anyone have any experience with these tyres?

For a daily driver go the Coopers...

I'd forgotten how much more pleasureable the Trol was to drive until I took my MT's off a while back and put the Coopers back on.
In this case the MT's were Hankooks not Nittos but the end result will be close enough to the same.

Well, I've bitten the bullet so to speak and had the new tyres put on the Patrol. They are the Cooper ST-MAXX all terrains in 265/75r16. I called up Bulleen Tyrepower this morning and they could do $330 per tyre and had them in stock.

Very happy with the price and they are surprisingly quiet for their aggressive tread pattern. The car drives very nicely, steers well on the highway and they feel grippy. Wont be able to test them off-road until march when I visit the Gamon ranges but should get a good idea on how they perform on rocks then.
