Doesn’t look like you’ll need that ........ thank goodness. Had an RACV check done on mine pre-purchase, paid for by the place I bought it from, but it wasn’t worth the paper it was written on. Told me nothing of value, although stated the gearbox probably had a major problem. I paid a transmission specialist/4wd workshop to do a second inspection. They told me the box was fine (it was the usual TD42 low rev transmission growl) & found a few other minor issues, including a leaking sub tank, which the seller rectified at a cost of around $2k. (Best $200 I’ve ever invested in a car).
I would never have confidence in an RACV pre-purchase check again, at least not for a 4wd. There are better options ....... & of course if you can get an experienced Patrol tinkerer/enthusiast to check for you - it doesn’t come any better than that.

Unless things have changed recently, a Vic RWC and reg is no good to you anyway. You'll have to rereg it in SA. So there's a saving of $500 if u get it without reg ? Send me a txt with what u want to do.

Legendary
Nice one Kallen. Yeah have to agree with others about RACV check. Got one years ago on a 40s picked up heaps of obvious stuff you could see yourself and not things like knackered swivel hubs. Waste of money with my experience anyway, guess a lot of them don't really know fourbies, bit of a gamble maybe with who you get.
Anyway best of luck with the new truck, prefect having Kat & Steve to look @ it. . . Poor old GQ. . . .☺

Just make sure it doesnt have the dreaded coolant leak like Hodge had.
IMO the IC will be leaking and need replacing straight off the bat.
Is it a private sale or yard???
