introduction
hi All,
Natrob from South Australia , just joined as i have recently purchased a GQ 1989 TB42 Petrol/Gas Patrol Wagon, Auto.
Mainly purchased the 4x4 for towing the van & putting the boat in the water. I sold my GU Patrol and missed having it. I always wanted a GQ but didn't want to spend alot of money on one that looked nice.
So i purchased one that needs some TLC, so far i have just replaced the Starter motor,as the old starter motor didn't start the car everytime. Once i got the old one out i noticed the old Starter motor shaft was shorter than the new one, therefore causing the stater motors teeth to be engaged all the time in the flywheel.
Once the new one was put in place, the car start perfectly!!
now to start playing with the rest of the car to get her back to mechanically perfect.
I think i may be spending alot of time on this , repairing the old girl.
Regards,
Rob
