    Cool

Picked up this little beauty on Tuesday, makes the old Kimberley Kamper look like a swag

Off up to the Gulf, Arnhem Land, all the usual NT Parks, Ayers Rock and home via the Oodnadatta Track and the Flinders from ANZAC day to early September, the joys of retirement

It is a Vista RV Crossover XL

PS Will change the sig pic (which was taken on the Oodnadatta track) when I have a similar pic of the new toy on that track

Well the big trip is over. 17,000ks of rough stuff and fun.

R&M The long range fuel tank developed a fatigue crack at one of the baffle welds, crack welded at Birdsville but opened up again at Coburg. Fix was a new tank in Darwin. Shocks finally gave up the ghost coming into Alice Springs, so new set of ARBs fitted there.

When doing long trips I budget a $ per k to cover everything (food, drinks going out for meals, park fees etc) and allow a contingency for repairs etc. This trip used up all the contingency

After arriving home, and major service, I notice a "funny" whining noise when under load, clutch in noise goes away, sort of sounded like transmission whine. Mechanic takes out rear tail shaft and goes for a run on the front diff, no noise. Diagnosis is rear diff, will need a bearing kit as minimum, plus check and adjustment etc, about $1,000 give or take. So given that the diff is out and it could end up costing more, the decision is taken to stick in an elocker (to match the front one) Due to get done next week.

Hopefully the last of the repairs for a while!

    Hi from the UK
I say jolly nice truck - what he says in OTT english accent
    but seriously love it
    I have a td42 imported from Japan
it doesn't have an intercooler on it but i guess yours does by looking at the bonnet
would it be cheeky to have a photo of the underside of the bonnet and of the intercooler
I am about to order an intercooler kit and i was thinking of using a ZD30 bonnet
