I used 210lts in my GUIV TD42Ti
Liftlid did most of the leg work in terms of permit applications for our trip and his info is on the money. Camp 3 & 4 are restricted and you will most likely not get access there.
It is an amazing trip and one that has been fairly heavily travelled in the last few years. There are a few options and TPC also has done the Madigan.
Very happy to pass on knowledge and I'd love to do it again but there are a couple of other trips like CSR that I'm real keen to point at in the next couple of years too.
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!
....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!
Check out my Toy -->

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

How many days do you allow just on the Madigan line itself?

I think we took 8 days to cross. The second half was very hard going. If I was going to do it again I would go east west for the challenge but it is plenty tough enough west to east I assure you.

..........
I did it in 2010, we had planned to take 7 days to get from Mt Dare to Birdsville but we ended up taking 11 days because it flooded and we could not get past Eyre Creek.
It was the best desert trip we have done even though we were eating our emergency canned food for the last couple of days.
Punctures are very common, between 5 cars we had 13 punctures, fortunately we were able to repair all but 1 ourselves.
