G'day mate. I don't have any, never needed them. Not been around much, had a stint in hospital and been laid up for about 8 weeks.

Well we got to use my tracks a little over the last few days, we had a little trip up north. Plenty of beach and my mate in his GU got reeeaaallllyyy bogged in soft sand...

We used his two max trax under his front wheels and my 4 Ridge Ryder tracks under the back, (he was driving out backwards as forwards was toward the ocean).... With just his two max trax he was only able to drive as far as getting off the other end of the tracks and would bog down again straight away.

We put mine down, two for each back wheel and he drove straight out no worries at all, I figure an extra set of max trax would have had the same result, having tracks under all 4 wheels made a huge difference.

I totally agree with the wheel spin bit, my tracks have no damage at all, his have had a couple of previous uses with a bit of wheel spin, and they have lost a bunch of lugs. Not a fault of the product, they have definitely lost lugs through unintended use. It will be interesting to see how mine go with a couple more uses and compare them.

The only down side so far is I can't find ready made mounts for them, oh we'll when I have time I'll have to make some. Straps do for now.
93 GQ wagon, RB30, extractors, 2 inch tough dog lift, 5 spd, A/T KO2 32's, steel winch bar, rated recovery points, red arc dual battery set up, rhino roof racks, UHF etc etc. Slow and steady might not win the race but it gets me there eventually...

Both Tred Pro and the Maxtrax Extreme are using an over-mooulding process now to address the melted teeth issues. The MaxTrax is a much heavier and complex compound by the feel of them both. Get what you pay for at the end of the day when using the cheapies.
Between Patrols ATM. Had a beaut GU with 6.5 Chev TD. Next is a GU ute with a 4.5 litre Cummins conversion and a camper on the back.

Have been pondering over original tough ‘MaxTrax’ purchase for a few years now and still honestly unsure if their use as backup blown winch recovery could be justified/utilised in the Victorian high country for the Mexicans crews needs? I do imagine they would greatly assist beyond our vehicles entry/departure angles. Would truly love to hear honest feedback of blokes using them like this as say ramps properly supported and if they worked/survived? Cheers too!
