I got a set of Bolsys rock sliders made as steps with the checker plate top. These have U-shaped brackets that bolt to the chassis (no welding, no protrusion below the chassis) and are gusseted with large diameter tubing. They were $550 delivered to Canberra which I reckon is a bargain. They took ages to make them (like two months) but the finished product is excellent.
Check out the website here: www.bolsys.com.au

Evil I see you were down in my old stamping ground .Was in the road gangs that sealed from the Stuart hwy to the Rock, carted all the sand and gravel for the Resort ,did tyre testing on Lasseters for Dunlop Pacific, manned the Airport for ARFF for charter flights and out the otherside worked on the earth works for the new railway from Marla to Alice and put the tanks in at Marla so the photos brought back memories .The barwork sure looks the goods and you would need it given the car spaces are only 150mm wider that a Patrol.
