    Vin location/how to read

Hello, everybody, just bought an 81 Nissan MQ Patrol. I am in the U.S. and I am trying to get it titled soon. I have located the data plate on the drivers side (rhd) fender but I want to have some examples of another vin to make sure it is correct. The vehicle is from Japan btw. Thanks in advance.

MQ's are very rare in the U.S!

There is no VIN number as such due to the age of the cars, but the chassis number is used for ID and rego purposes (which is the number you found on the build plate). The chassis number is also stamped on the chassis itself, its stamped on the outside of the RHS chassis rail, just behind the front body mount and shackle mount. The stamping is fairly faint though, so the number can be hard to read especially if the chassis has had a coat of paint throughout its life.

So does this sound about right as my chassis number? I will try to get it off of the frame later this week, but here is what I interpreted on the data plate.
